In the example above I am using Centos. On both the front controller (CLC, CC, SC, walrus) and nodes. You could choose a different Linux distro if needed.

Hello, im brazilian student. I love your posts. Congratulation for your site. Well, i have one question: On 1 front-end machine do you have some OS installed? Do You install CLC, CC, SC and walrus on the other OS? Ubuntu? Or on Xen? Or…?

We are having three desktops with Windows XP. Please tell me whether I have to reformat the machines to remove Windows and to install a Linux OS. Or I can install the Linux OS on Windows XP?.

Ashish,
What version of JDK are you using? Could you please run “java -version” and copy/paste the output here.

Also, did you run install Eucalyptus and the dependencies using the “–no-deps” switch (look under “Install Eucalyptus on the front-end” section)?

I just followed the steps given here,
still getting problems.

[root@localhost ~]# /etc/init.d/eucalyptus-cloud start
Starting Eucalyptus services: walrus sc cloud Eucalyptus needs java version >= 1.6.0

I am having java version needed here
[root@localhost ~]# /etc/init.d/eucalyptus-cloud start

what’s the problem?
